There are millions of kids out there on every corner that would love to be a hip hop superstar, but I'm hear to tell you that it's not for everyone. If you don't have the right connections, manager or person in your life to help guide you through your career you will not make it. What I will do is give you a basic guide that if followed would lead you to a successful music career. The most important thing in the whole equation is the product. You have to have something to sell in order to make a profit from what you do. If you are a music artist, you need a well produced high quality demo. I hear a lot of unprofessional demo's done at home and that will not cut it. If you made it from home and it sounds like what you hear on the radio then maybe you have something. Once you have the product you then need a business plan. The business plan will help guide your career from start to finish. Or, you could just right down daily, monthly and yearly goals. That should work as a business plan to start. Now that you have your product and business plans, you will need a good team on your side. Such as a manager, street team, agent etc... The best way to find one is to go out and perform. Find open mike's and showcases in your area. You can even set up your own shows by contacting local clubs and put together a press kit with a professional bio and give it to them. Many local clubs welcome up and coming talent. Here is a basic list of what you need to start your successful hip hop career.
Successful hip hop career list
