Does Hip Hop Influence Our Children In a Negative Way?

Many people ask me does hip hop influence our kids in a negative way? I would have to say no. Ask yourself the same question about the porno industry. Does that influence our kids in a negative way. No, because you learn how to shield your children from most of the non sense in the world. The same goes for hip hop. If you think that your child is being influenced in a negative way then don't let them listen to it. Many parents say that all the kids listen to it and they influence other children but if you really think about it, your letting other people raise your child. The bottom line is if your child respects you and your opinions they will do what you say regardless of what their friends are doing. When I was growing up I had many friends that were involved with drugs and other things. Did that influence me? No, because my parents made it clear to me what was right and wrong, so even though my good friends were involved with drugs I managed to stay away because of how my parents raised me.

So the next time someone asks you if hip hop is bad for your children, tell them no because I don't let society raise my children, I do.
