Many independent artists try to sell their music online with very little results. One thing that most artists fail to realize is that major labels struggle to sell music with million dollar budgets and tons of radio spins. So the reality of it is an independent artist has to understand all the rules of the music industry before you can sell one download. First of all, if an indie artist has little money then they have to understand the rules of Grind marketing. Grind marketing is marketing your music with very little or no budget. There are many ways to Grind such as using your mouth to tell people about your music. Track how many people you talk to on the daily basis and try to increase it everyday. Talking does not cost a dime and it will market your music. You would be surprised to find out how many people have many family relatives and friends that don't know about what they are doing. At this point everyone you know should have a copy of your song or they should be telling their friends about what you are doing.   5. Buy a computer and start a video blog and edit them with windows movie maker. Then post them on social video sites like youtube.
  6. Content is key, the more content you have on the web the better. So blog, post your music everywhere, forums etc..
  7. Start a cable show, most public access shows cost nothing to start and you can use the cameras of the network for your show.
  8. Start an internet radio show, you might get lucky and book a big guest and you will get a chance to showcase your music also.
